Craig Martin is an award-winning teacher and principal, and frequent speaker on leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, social-emotional learning, culturally responsive pedagogy & practice, and culturally responsive teaching. Since June 2019, he has served as the Executive Director of Bridge Boston Charter School in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.
Craig C. Martin has had an active and impactful career serving in different leadership roles within education. As principal of the Michael J. Perkins School, he sustainably increased student attainment by 320%. He also reduced suspension rates by half and chronic absenteeism by 25%.
His awards include being named 2018 National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Professionals; 2018 Elementary Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators Association; and 2009 Educator of the Year by Boston Public Schools.
Craig was Co-President of the Boston K-8 School Leaders Association from October 2015 to October 2018. While serving as founder of the Brown Boys Network and Executive Director at the Boston Charter School today, he assists leaders and organizations in making transformative changes to create holistic learning environments that enable all students to thrive.
